In October 1997, Pearson Television (now Fremantle Media) bought the rights to Family Feud. In April 1998 "Feud" producers started their search for a new host. Dolly Parton was concidered for the hosting duties before Louie Anderson was chosen. In the fall of 1998, Peason (now Fremantle) deamanded that Louie shoot a Family Feud pilot, but Louie refused. Instead Louie came up with a plan to film him and his family playing the "Feud".That was used to sell the show and Louie was offered the hosting job for 1.5 million dollars.
so that's how the story goes; Dolly Parton backed out of hosting Feud and Louie Anderson stepped in as host of Feud (despite having a short-lived three season run of course).
now let me ask you guys this do you think that Dolly Parton would have been a good host for Family Feud?
would it still have the same country-styled set, theme music, and logo like Dawson and Combs had?
or would our almost permanently first female Family Feud host gets the infamous three strikes she deserves?
let me know in the comment below
until then, my "Survey Says"... later
